A Walk With An Angel

On Sunday, 6 July 2008, for the 3rd year in a row, Pia & the family entered the Gold Coast Marathon’s 7.5km walk. Only this time, we had Circle of Silent Angels banner on Pia’s rehab-stroller and we all wore the matching t-shirts with an angel painted by Pia’s big brother, Kye, and “A Walk With An Angel” on them. Kye also entered 2.25km Junior Dash and only realised just before his run that he should have made another shirt with “A Run For An Angel” on the back... It rained a lot in the week leading up to the event and in fact, it was still raining earlier in the morning. But for the walk which started at 11:00 am, sun came out and it became quite warm. Pia slept almost all the way but still got her finisher’s medal ; ) What a lovely day it was! After the event, some of our friends told us they were keen to have the “A Walk With An Angel” shirts for next year’s event. It would be great if we could get group of people who can join us in “A Walk With An Angel” at Gold Coast Marathon 2009.
