Today, Pia attended the Rett Syndrome Clinic at Mater Children's Hospital!
It came to us as a very big surprise, on how quickly we got to this point.
We had a very productive meeting with the key people at the Mater Children's Hospital at end of April this year, and 2 months later, the long awaited Rett Clinic in QLD has started.
It is still a very early stage, so the first few families who would be attending in the next few months will be used to fine tune how the clinic will operate.
Initial session we had with Dr Honey Heussler was all about gathering all the information on family, Pia's development and current state of health. Then looking for areas where there might be a concern or issues we have, and plan the next steps for us.
We've achieved our first goal to get the Clinic clinic started in QLD, now we'll need to support it and make it work. So, if you live in Qld with a child with Rett Syndrome and would like to know more about how to attend the Rett Clinic, please contact us at info@silent-angels.org.au
