Spring Celebrations at Sanctuary Cove

On 21st October 2008, we were one of three Charities participated in the Spring Celebrations event at Sanctuary Cove.It was a mainly a Fashion Parade at the Sanctuary Cove Village Cinema, but as a participating Charity, we were allocated one of the stand leading to the entrance pf the Village Cinema. Were were closest to the main road, an ideal location to get noticed.

We had our Merchandise, Pens, Wristband, Scented Candles, etc. as well as our supporters Eda, providing us with her superb Home Made Jams, Cakes and Cookies and Revella, for her beautiful Hats, Fascinators and Hand Painted Cards on sale at our stand.

It was another perfect day to spend the day out in he public, trying to spread the word, raise awareness and raise much needed funds for research. We had our Angel Pia looking after the Merchandise in the morning, and for the evening session our son Kye came to help mind our stand.

It was a very good day for us, we were able to reach out to a different audience and the combined sales of our merchandise and Eda's Home Made Goodies raised around $800!!

We would like to thank all of the kind people who have assisted in setting up and running of the event, Lucia, Eda, Revella and to the participating Stores supporting the event. And most of all, thank you to everyone whom we spoke with on the day, your support and awareness is making a difference.

Gold Coast Marathon 2009

It’s been a year since we started our charity, Circle of Silent Angels Foundation. The main purpose of our organization is to raise awareness for this debilitating disorder and to raise fund for the researches conducted in Australia working towards finding a treatment and ultimately a cure.

On 5th of July 2009, our very first awareness building event, at Gold Coast Marathon was a great success.

We had total of 93 team members registered for our team, mostly for 5km Walk, but about a dozen in 2.25km Junior Dash and a sole runner for the 10km Run.

The day was beautiful with absolutely no sign of rain, perfect outdoors weather. We have set up our marquee at the top of the hill overlooking the

Race precinct on one side and the race track on the other side. With our Major Sponsor Watermark Hotel Group providing us with a large marquee, we were able to screen our 10 minutes version of the documentary film inside, and Sausage Sizzle happening outside.

Out of 93 team members we had close to 80 turn up on the day to participate, and there were some extra family members for extra support and we had Pia's friend, Ruby who is 3 year’s old also affected by Rett Syndrome with her mum, Annabel, at the race enjoying the perfect day. These girls might not be able to talk, but they touch hearts of everyone who comes to know them, and on the race day, they would have touched many more hearts with their precious smiles.

We have enjoyed this great event and started our first major awareness building event, also with thanks to the generous donations and merchandise sales on the race day, we were also raised close to $1,000.

This will help us move closer to our dream and put more smiles on these beautiful angels faces in the future.

First Step

Thanks to the support and generosity of our family and friends, we have raised over $10,000 dollars in the 2008-2009 financial year, and the first cheque was made out to the researchers at Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney in last week of June 2009.

It is not much compared to the mountain o research needed to find a cure, but we hope our first step can someday reach our ultimate goal of finding a cure.

We would like to thank all the families and friends who have contributed to our cause, and to support our our Silent Angels.
